Terms of Use

1. Who we are

rothat45.com (the "site") is run by Roth at 45 LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company ("we", "us"). By using the site, including the 59½ calculator and the Portfolio Ship Simulator (the "tools"), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

2. Education only, not advice

The site, the tools and the eBook are general education. Nothing here is personalized financial, investment, tax or legal advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security. We are not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, tax professional or law firm, and the author is not a licensed financial professional. Your situation is your own: talk to a licensed financial, tax or legal professional before making decisions.

3. About the tools

• Practice only. The tools use no real money and place no trades. Nothing you do in them affects any account.
• Real tickers are examples. The Portfolio Ship Simulator shows real, publicly traded tickers as examples so the practice feels real. Showing a ticker is not a recommendation, endorsement or opinion about it.
• Estimates and simplifications. "Swing" numbers are calculated from past prices as of the date shown on the page and change over time. The ship picture, the "Level the deck" buttons and the calculator are simplified models. Real markets can behave very differently, and past results don't guarantee future results.
• Rules change. Contribution limits and income ranges are shown for the tax year stated and change yearly. Confirm current rules with the IRS or a tax professional.
• AI questions. The simulator can copy questions for you to ask an AI assistant. AI answers can be wrong. Check them, and remember that AI is a helper, not the decision-maker.

4. No guarantees ("as is")

The site and tools are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the site will be available or error-free. We may change, pause or remove any part of the site at any time.

5. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Roth at 45 LLC and its owner are not liable for any loss or damage, including investment losses, lost profits, or indirect, incidental or consequential damages, arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site, the tools or the eBook. Some places don't allow certain limits, so some of this may not apply to you.

6. Your information

The tools don't ask for your name, account numbers or other personal details, and we don't save what you enter in them. To run the simulator, your browser sends the holdings you're practicing with to our tool engine to do the math; the engine sends back the result and doesn't record what you sent. Our hosting and service providers (such as Netlify, Cloudflare and Google Fonts) may keep standard technical logs, like IP addresses, under their own policies. If you sign up for the free chapter, your email is handled by our newsletter provider, Kit, and you can unsubscribe any time.

7. Links and referral disclosure

The site links to other websites, such as Kit and Robinhood. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or policies. Some links are referral links: if you open an account through one, we may receive a reward, at no extra cost to you. The guide applies to any broker you choose.

8. Our content

© 2026 Roth at 45 LLC. The site's text, graphics, tools, code and the "Portfolio Ship" method and presentation are protected by copyright and other laws. You may use the tools for your own personal learning. Please don't copy, scrape, reverse-engineer, resell or republish them, or overload the tools with automated requests.

9. Changes and governing law

We may update these Terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and using the site after a change means you accept it. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
